Dr. Will Johnson is the co-founder and CEO of Geeks4Hire, Inc.
Dr. Will Johnson is the co-founder and CEO of Geeks4Hire, Inc. He has been actively involved with computers going back into the 1970’s and the “punch card” era, “dumb terminals”, and the first personal computers. During his undergraduate work in the ‘70s he utilized statistical programs to evaluate results from course evaluations across campus. Later, in his graduate work in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, he led efforts in his laboratory to interface existing equipment with computers, and programed in machine language and assembly language. In 2002, in the latter stages of a successful career as a scientist and engineer (see sites.udel.edu\johnsonw for more details) he decided to start Geeks4Hire, Inc. to utilize his skills in computer technology. With the help of his son, Brian, Dr. Johnson has expanded his capabilities to include a wide range of hardware computer technology, from Windows and Mac personal computers, to Linux and Windows servers. Software skills include Word and Excel VBA programming, database manipulation, photo, video and audio file editing, and much more. With his extensive background in engineering, and his decades of experience there are few programs that he cannot quickly utilize. His abilities in removing malware from infected personal computers, and data file recovery from damaged hard drives are skills that clients particularly appreciate. Dr. Johnson relishes new technology and looks forward to embracing the future changes that are sure to come!
Dr. Johnson has contributed time to various governmental and non-profit organizations, serving on the State of Delaware Science and Technology Advisory Committee after being appointed by the Honorable Ruth Ann Minner, Governor of Delaware; on the External Advisory Board of both the Delaware Energy Institute and the Catalysis Center at the University of Delaware; as the Secretary, and later Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Unitarian Universalist Society of Mill Creek; and on the Board of Directors of First State Innovation, Inc.
Dr. Johnson is the author or co-author of over 150 publications including 35 U.S. patents and patent applications and numerous additional international patent and patent applications.
Karen Johnson, co-founder of Geeks4Hire, Inc., is currently our content editor. During her career, Karen has run her own business, been a co-director of a private preschool, and a teacher of young children. She has provided invaluable support to the company throughout its life in financial, personnel, and computer testing, as well as acting as the Secretary of the Board of Directors.
Brian Johnson has served as the Vice President of Technology for most of the life of Geeks4Hire, Inc. His seemingly innate skills in dealing with any computer related issues is the baseline against which all of the Geeks at Geeks4Hire, Inc. aspire to. He currently provides extensive consulting support to the company in the latest technology trends in computers, video and phones.
Erica Johnson, Esq. serves on the Board of Directors providing legal counsel. She also is currently the social media director, connecting Geeks4Hire, Inc. to the wider world though Facebook, Twitter and others. Her legal and media skills have allowed the company to grow and prosper in many ways that would not have been possible without her input.
